Lindsay Petersen
It is with a profound sense of sadness that Reston Community Players announce the passing of Lindsay Petersen in May, 2002. More than just a long-time board member, Lindsay was intimately involved in helping RCP grow into one of the region's outstanding community theater groups. Starting back in the "dark ages" of RCP history in the Reston Pony Barn and Lake Anne hall, Lindsay later served on the committee that designed the Reston Community Center and its theater. The wisdom of her input, especially regarding the theater, is as clear today as it was twenty years ago.
Lindsay had the foresight to purchase the space that we know as the rehearsal hall, scene shop, and office -- a complex that is the envy of almost every other local theater group. Since the late 1960s, she found time to serve on the RCP board in nearly every capacity, but found her niche as our secretary and historian. She also served as liaison to the Reston Community Center, regular producer and frequent lighting designer, as well as treasurer for the Arts Alliance of Reston.
In short, there isn't an RCP member or production that she didn't benefit. We all mourn her passing and thank all of her friends and associates for their kind words.
