It's the height of the 1920's when Mame Dennis becomes the guardian of her ten-year-old nephew, Patrick. Clearly his life is changed forever—as is hers. Her priorities change, but in her topsy-turvy world, she still manages to live each day to the fullest! Overflowing with madcap adventures and eccentric characters, Mame is a flash of something different. The new musical comedy based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling is a celebration of being different. It's soon clear that our hero, Ugly, is no ordinary duck. Mocked on the farmyard, pursued by a ravenous Cat, Ugly flees, embarking on an odyssey through the countryside, meeting a battery of colorful characters, finding himself —and love—along the way. Friendship, loyalty and love endure the harshest of tests as Proteus and Valentine take leave of one another to seek their fortunes and find true love, the former in native Verona and the latter in Milan.
